Program details
Walk in the footsteps of the prophet Moses on this overnight tour to Mount Sinai and St. Catherine’s Monastery, the oldest monastery still in use. Take a 3-hour ride in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to arrive in St. Catherine’s Town. After a quick snack at the cafeteria, start the 2 A.M. hike to the summit of Mount Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Watch the magnificent sunrise from the mountain top and then afterwards, visit St. Catherine’s Monastery and have breakfast at the cafeteria before heading back to Sharm El Sheikh. Tours are led by a qualified Egyptologist and a Bedouin guide.

WHAT TO BRING
- Warm clothes as it can get chilly on the mountain (during winter)
- Passport (with Sinai stamp or entry visa to Egypt)

ADDITIONAL INFO
- There are two ways to reach the mountain top:
a. The standard 7 km mountain road + 750 stone steps.
b. The steps road which is 3500 stone steps (not recommended)
- Travellers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- This trip is not recommended for children
- Not recommended for pregnant travellers
- No heart problems or other severe medical conditions
- Covered shoulders and knees inside the monastery
- It’s very cold on the mountain especially in winter
- Camels are available if travellers are interested, but it’s not recommended
- Sometimes without prior notice, the church could be partly closed inside the monastery
